If you want to truly experience the magic and antiquity of Greece
and the Marathon, this is the choice for you. You'll be headquartered
in the Aegean resort community of Vouliagmeni. Daily runs and clinics
with Jeff Galloway. Lots of sightseeing, guided tours and Apostolos'
superb runner support at the Marathon.

DAY 1 (October 27)
- Travel to Athens from your home city.
- Airfare not included
DAY 2 (October 28)
- Airport transfers are provided for you if you are arriving October 28th between 10am and 7pm. We will provide busses approximately ever two hours as arrivals require. If you need a different time, our staff at the airport will assist you with a taxi . Taxi fares are approximately 40 Euros (extra cost).
If you are outside our normal arrival times, we will be happy to arrange for a private taxi/driver to meet you at the airport and bring you to the hotel . The rate for the private taxi and driver is 60 Eurors per taxi..
- Staff introductions and
orientation. Beverages and hors-d'oeuvres served.
DAY 3 (October 29)
- 7:30 am. The day begins with an early morning 30-minute run followed
by a buffet breakfast (included).
- Morning: leave for the town of Marathon where we will view the start of the marathon and the earth mound tomb of the Fallen Athenians located on the Marathon battlefield. Then we will drive on the course for a firsthand preview.
- Lunch on your own in one of the sidewalk cafes in the Plaka. Our guide
will escort you.
- Shopping opportunity in the Plaka. Option: Marathon Expo.
- 5:00 pm. Return to our hotel.
- Evening free.
DAY 4 (October 30)
- Buffet breakfast, but no early run.
- 8:30 am: City tour of Athens and the Acropolis.
- Lunch on your own.
- 3:00 p.m. Race number distribution and orientation. Jeff Galloway will give a presentation followed by questions and answers.
- 6:00 p.m. Pasta Dinner at the hotel.
DAY 5 (October 31)
- RACE DAY!
- After a lite breakfast (included), we'll leave for the starting
line in plush, chartered buses. All the pre-race details are taken care
of so you can save your energy to run the Marathon, not use it up getting
there! We'll depart from the hotel at 7:00 AM
- The Marathon starts at 9:00 am. May the spirit of Pheidippides run
with you.
- Fruit and high-energy snacks for everyone on the bus, at the half
way point and at the finish line.
- After the race, we'll enjoy a gala awards
banquet and party at the hotel. A local D. J. and Greek folk dancers
will be on hand to set the tone.
DAY 6 (November 1)
- Sleep late and enjoy a lazy morning. Buffet breakfast (included) at
the hotel.
- Late morning we will visit the Ancient Agora of Athens (next to the
Acropolis). We will see the Theseion, the best preserved building of
ancient Athens and the Agora Museum.
- Lunch on your own at one of the Plaka sidewalk cafes.
- 5:00pm Return to the hotel
- Free evening to relax, or perhaps enjoy a stroll
on the beach.
DAY 7 (November 2)
- Buffet
breakfast (included).
- Then most of us will depart for a cruise to three Agean Islands-Hydra,
Poros and Aegina. Those who chose to skip the cruise can enjoy a day
of sightseeing in Athens. (The cruise is optional and not included in
the basic tour package. The cost is approximately $160.00 and includes
lunch.)
- Evening free.
DAY 8 (November 3)
- The day begins with a buffet breakfast (included).
- Depart at 7:30 AM for a full-day guided tour of fabled Delphi.
- Lunch in Delphi at a local taverna is included.
- Later, we'll have dinner at the hotel
(included).
- Running clinic with Jeff Galloway (during bus trip).
DAY 9 (November 4)
- The day begins with a 30-minute run followed by buffet breakfast (included).
- Depart at 7:30 AM for a guided tour of Epidavros.
- We'll have lunch (included) in a local taverna, and then tour Mycenae.
- Running clinic with Jeff Galloway (during the bus trip).
- We'll return to the hotel for dinner (included).
DAY 10 (November 5)
- Buffet breakfast (included).
- We'll spend the day exploring Athens and its famous flea market in
the Plaka. Good opportunity for more shopping. Complimentary bus to
Athens.
- Lunch on your own.
- Dinner at the hotel is included.
- Free evening to pack for the trip home.
DAY 11 (November 6)
- Departure from Athens.
- Departure transfers are provided from 3:30am until 12pm on Nov. 6th. )

Depart U.S.A.: October 27th, 2010.
Arrive in Athens October 28th.
